Our Vision:
has the right to high-quality education regardless of socio-economic status.
should be empowered to provide it.
We are committed to working together with government and civil society
to trial public school management models that do things differently by providing learners and their parents with the choice of a public school partnership that delivers quality education measured by learner outcomes.
The core partnership is between:
a PUBLIC SCHOOL, as an organisation that includes staff, parents, and the local community,
the PROVINCIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT that gives contractual responsibility and accountability to
a non-profit civil society organisation that specialises in education management, known as a SCHOOL OPERATING PARTNER (SOP).
Our objective is to improve learner outcomes by creating
and sustaining excellent school management models.
Too many children do not yet receive high-quality education and therefore cannot participate fully in learning and life.
Many South African children, and particularly the 70% that attend public, no-fee schools, do not have access to high-quality education. It is here that all South Africans must take hands in partnership if we are to place our children on a fundamentally different trajectory and provide access to quality education.
Public school partnerships is a model that aims to address this by bringing additional expertise, resources, flexibility, and greater accountability into no-fee public schools to achieve more equity in quality education in South Africa.
Our mission is to improve learner outcomes by creating and sustaining excellent school management models. The results of the first phase of our pilot project show the potential to demonstrate a fundamentally different trajectory.
